The GP Care Group’s Somali service users have shared their views with the Tower Hamlets Training Hub regarding the lack of visible colleagues in Primary Care from a Somali ethnicity background.
The team has heard from young people in the community on challenges accessing employment opportunities. The GP Care Group and Training Hub are committed to supporting colleagues’ engagement with the Somali community as a priority. We are in the process of collecting profiles from job seekers who are interested in working in the health sector.
Our new Inclusion Officer, Layla Abdi will be leading on this, along with other workforce inclusion programmes and wider health inequalities work.
