Haadiyah on making an impact during her internship

Care Group is committed to supporting our local community with employment opportunities. Paid internships are just one of the routes to a career with us.

Posted on: 26 March 2025

In the summer of 2024, Haadiyah Cassam, 22, joined the Care Group as an Environment Social Governance intern. After graduating, she joined us again as a full-time staff member in December 2024. This is part of a growing trend where we’ve been able to hire local young people into new and exciting roles.

Haadiyah was an undergraduate student who graduated with a degree in Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods from the London Interdisciplinary School, Whitechapel. This gave her a great academic grounding in tackling real world problems, which she applied to the Care Group and our sustainability commitments.

She said: “Previous internships were less involved in the work of the company, and it felt like my work was just passed over. This has been one of the best internships I’ve done and the nicest, most welcoming corporate space I’ve even been in. It felt like I was truly contributing to the company.”

You can see the impact of her work on our new webpage published to showcase our commitment to sustainability and providing social value to the communities we work with.

Haadiyah is now working in a full-time position as our Sustainability Impact Officer. Using the same report she completed during her internship, she is now implementing the findings to help reduce the Care Group’s carbon footprint and encourage greener habits in general practice.

We'd like to encourage anyone looking to start their career to apply for an internship with us. For the latest information on internship opportunities follow our social media channels below.
