Did you know that the annual international 16 days of activity against gender-based violence runs from 25 November to 10 December?
Over previous years the GP Care Group’s Safeguarding Children Team has held stalls at Mile End Hospital during this period to raise awareness of local support services, giving out a variety of publicity materials and asking people to sign the white ribbon pledge. The white ribbon campaign is aimed specifically at men to declare their promise to never commit, excuse, or remain silent about male violence against women, but is open to anyone to support and sign.
Care Group colleagues, both male and female will be rallying together during the 16 days, holding a poster with their handwritten pledge. If you’d like to take part, you share your A4 pledge sign photographs with us by tagging @THGPCareGroup on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
Tower Hamlets Council’s VAWG Team has coordinated a partnership programme of activities to encourage residents across Tower Hamlets to sign the pledge. The events include information on understanding stalkers, self-defense, Sylheti session on how victims of domestic abuse can make a homelessness application, how to apply for a non-molestation order, and much more.
Check out the activities below which will be taking place during the 16 days.
