Showcasing our School Health and Wellbeing Service to the Deputy Mayor

An opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to Tower Hamlets’ young population.

Posted on: 29 August 2024

Representatives from the GP Care Group met with the Deputy Mayor, Maium Talukdar, of Tower Hamlets Council and the Public Health Commissioner for Tower Hamlets 0-25 Services, Dr Katie Cole last month.

The Deputy Mayor also sits as the Lead Cabinet Member for Education, Youth and Lifelong Learning, working alongside Steve Reddy, the Director of Children Services and Culture, also in attendance. This meeting was an opportunity to build relationships and showcase the Care Group, particularly our School Health and Wellbeing Service.

Care Group CEO, Zainab Arian, led the presentation and conversation on our history of delivering services and working in partnerships within Tower Hamlets.

Zainab said: “It was wonderful to have the opportunity to share with the Deputy Mayor and our guests some insights and examples of the scope of our work.

“In particular, we were keen to demonstrate our commitment to Tower Hamlets’ young people, through our work with schools and other partners. This work includes our apprenticeships programmes for young people. We hope to continue to build partnerships across the Tower Hamlets Partnership for the benefit of our youngest residents.”
