Top tips to stay well and warm this winter

Prepare for the winter season and protect your family with local advice and support for Tower Hamlets residents.

Posted on: 20 November 2024

With colder, wetter weather approaching, Care Group has collated advice to help you stay safe and well over the winter months.

By preparing for the winter season, you can help prevent illness, protect yourself, your family and your community while reducing strain on vital health services.

Staying warm
There are several Warm Hubs across the borough available for residents to keep safe and warm with a hot drink this winter. Drop in to warm up while out and about, and to save on the cost of heating your home.

When you are home, it’s important to heat the room to a comfortable temperature. Low indoor temperatures can have a serious impact on your health, especially if you have medical conditions or are older. Something as simple as wearing several layers of thinner clothing could keep you warmer than one thicker layer.

You’ll find more information on the Warm Hubs and other tips on keeping warm and managing costs in the Mayor’s Cost of Living Help guide linked below.
