Support for your school

If you are a school in Tower Hamlets, we can support you in a number of ways. We will spend time with you to mutually agree how we can work together to support children and young people and periodically review this agreement to ensure we are reaching our agreed goals.

This includes:

  • supporting schools in the development of health policies
  • providing every school with a named school nurse
  • holding drop-ins in Secondary Schools to provide advice to young people
  • attending transition events for reception and year 6 pupils
  • develop and maintain an annual school health profile to identify health needs and produce an action plan for all primary and secondary schools in partnership with the schools
  • provide screening for vision and hearing to all children in reception
  • providing you with resources and support for children who are identified as obese through the National Child Measurement Programme
  • supporting the delivery of Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE), including relationship and sex education
  • support schools in developing School Management plans as appropriate
  • deliver training for school staff on health conditions such as Asthma, Allergies, Epilepsy and Eczema and managing medicines via webinars.

Promoting wellbeing

Our school nurses and nursery nurses strive to improve the health and wellbeing of local children and young people by encouraging healthy lifestyles, promoting emotional health and wellbeing and by providing support, prevention, interventions, education and advice in school and community settings.

Data Sharing Agreements

To deliver the National Child Measurement Programme there is no need for data sharing agreements - the guidance in relation to this can be found on page 13 using this link: National Child Measurement Programme 2019: Information for schools

However if an individual school does feel there is a need for an agreement then please complete this proforma and email to:
