Chathealth Text Messaging Service

ChatHealth is a secure text messaging service for young people (aged 11-19) to ask school nurses questions through anonymous SMS text messages. All messages will be treated as confidential and will be replied to by school nurses. 

We are in the process of setting up the service and further details will follow prior to the launch.


For 5-10 year olds

We provide advice, support and help for:

  • Emotional health and wellbeing
  • Healthy eating
  • Bullying
  • Transition to secondary school
  • Long term health conditions
  • Relationships and friendships
  • Personal hygiene
  • Dental and oral hygiene
  • Wetting and soiling
  • Sleep
  • Puberty and growing up
  • Minor ailments
  • Accident prevention

As part of National Child Measurement Programme we measure height and weights for all children in reception and year 6.

We provide vision and hearing screening sessions to all children aged 4 to 5 years.

For 11-19 year olds  

We hold drop-in clinics offering advice, support and help including:

  • Bullying
  • Bereavement
  • Healthy eating and lifestyle
  • Emotional health and wellbeing (such as anxiety, stress, depression, self-harm and anger management)
  • Exam stress
  • Personal hygiene
  • Long term health conditions
  • Puberty and growing up
  • Sexual health
  • Relationships and friendships
  • Stopping smoking
  • Drug and alcohol misuse
