Bright Beginnings

Bright Beginnings offers support to parents and their baby(s) in the first 1001 days of their life, give them and you a ‘bright beginning’.

Bright Beginnings is a Start for Life pilot run by the Care Group and funded by Department of Health and Social Care until March 2025. Any family living in Tower Hamlets with a newborn is eligible to get enhanced support.

Pregnant individuals and families with children up to 2 years of age can access the service, which centres around giving babies and their families additional support in the first 1001 days of life.

Bright Beginnings offers home visits, clinics in family hubs and GP surgeries. They will also see families in other venues such as Toy House, Idea Store and local parks.

Based in Tower Hamlets, the Bright Beginnings service is an enhanced health visiting service to families and children. There are four areas of the pilot: perinatal; immunisation plus; social communication; and social prescribing.

Background to the pilot programme

The Start4Life workforce pilot programme is a national pilot funded by Department of Health aimed at families with children in 1001 days. The pilot is funded until 31st March 2025.

Tower Hamlets is one of five pilot sites from across the country. The aim is to trial services in 1001 days for babies and families working in partnership with families, communities, health visiting service, Family Hubs, GPs and other professionals.
